──────────

We started Freddy Labs because we were tired of watching brilliant engineers spend their Tuesdays updating Jira statuses.

The interesting work — the design, the judgment calls, the code that's load-bearing — that should stay with humans. Everything else is a chore, and chores should be done by a co-worker who doesn't mind doing them.

So we built Freddy. Not a single agent. A roster. One that shows up for work, reads the standup, picks up tickets, drafts PRs, and leaves notes on your desk before the day starts. One that clocks out when you do.

Freddy isn't here to replace anyone. It's here to give every engineer what only staff+ engineers have had: a small team of their own.

§ timeline

The first eighteen months.

◉ oct 2024
The whiteboard moment. A failed on-call rotation becomes a napkin sketch. "What if every engineer had a chief of staff?"
◉ feb 2025
Freddy Labs incorporated. Six founders, one Delaware C-corp, zero customers.
◉ may 2025
First internal alpha. Freddy closes its first ticket (a fix for its own build script, appropriately).
◉ sep 2025
Seed round. Quiet close with partners who promise not to rush us.
◉ jan 2026
Design partners onboarded. Twelve engineering teams. Lots of yellow-sticky feedback.
◉ apr 2026
